Consortium
The leading members of the NEURIPIDES consortium are all specialized research and clinical institutes engaged in clinical and fundamental neuroscience. This project brings together groups with specific and complementary expertise in neuroimaging and neurostimulation. The coordinator is Maastricht University, School for Mental Health and Neuroscience (MHeNs).
The Maastricht University group (clinical DBS and fMRI-neurofeedback treatment and research) combines this expertise with the developments in methodology, data analysis and expertise in functional connectivity neurofeedback with Brain Innovation, developer of real-time fMRI software, and the Maastricht Brain Imaging Center. The University Hospital Cologne have pioneered the investigation of differential DBS effects on motor and non-motor symptoms. The Charles University, Prague has expertise in the combination of DBS and fMRI in simultaneous measurements. The Université de Versailles-Paris-Saclay, the Toronto group and the Prague groups have ample experience with the acquisition of resting-state and task-based fMRI in PD as well as the analysis of functional connectivity patterns. The Bilkent University is highly experienced in computational imaging methods to examine the anatomy and function of biological systems in healthy states and brain diseases. The project will contribute to technology transfer and dissemination by establishing neurofeedback capabilities at sites outside Maastricht and transferring the expertise in targeted diagnosis and simultaneous DBS.
